Food Feature - Ceviche Tapas Bar and Restaurant

Hey Guys!!

How has your Monday been?! I know I’ve been off the scene for a while but fear not, I’m here, live and in living colour, back with another blog post.

Now some time ago, Amelia and I decided that we needed to get out of the house, out of what’s evidently become our routine, and go somewhere to chat, chill, and of course, eat. I however felt as though we were always dining at the same places time and time again *sighs*. With that in mind, I suggested we try somewhere new. After all, I see no reason for us all to eat at the same place each time we agree to go out. Besides I don’t want to become one of those boring people whose routine can be easily predicted by not only me, but others around me. This is where I believe spontaneity comes into play.

In sharing my concerns with Amelia, she suggested that we try this restaurant her boss was always talking about by the name of “Ceviche”, but before I could agree, I needed to do some enquiries on this joint to ensure that “spontaneity” would not cost me my bank account LOL … Located in the heart of Downtown, Orlando, Ceviche brings forth a taste of Spain. They boast a delectable menu comprised of over one hundred different hot and cold tapas, as well as paellas and cazuelas. Having done my research, I discovered that the cost for meals ranged from US$3.50 to US$29.95. The vast majority however, were under US$10 as per the restaurants website. At this point I was confused, baffled to say the least. I mean how can one have a lovely sit down dinner at a fine restaurant on McDonald prices? I thought to myself, IMPOSSIBLE! And of course, impossible it was *bursts out laughing*.

Upon arrival, I became cognizant of the restaurants full name, Ceviche Tapas Bar and Restaurant. Right then and there, I figured “this was too good to be true”. A very important word stood out in the name of the restaurant we were about to dine in Can you guess what that word was? The key word was “Tapas”. For those of you who don’t know, Tapas are snacks, canapés or finger food originated in Spain. We were then advised by the waitress that it takes two (2) or three (3) tapas per person, in order to have what is considered a full meal. Now brought up to speed on how the menu worked, we all ordered away and had a blast. The final bill associated with that blast was approximately US$150 between the four of us partaking in the feast LOL …

Below, I share with you, images of the menu items ordered. Enjoy!!

GAMBOS ROMESCO - Sautéed jumbo shrimp with roasted tomato, garlic, almonds and sweet red peppers.

POLLO AL AJILLO - Sautéed chicken with olive oil, garlic, parsley and Spanish sherry.
