What's on my TV

Hey guys!! *waves frantically*

What’s on and poppin?! I hope that everyone had a whimsical Monday! *twirls*

So just to clue you all in a bit more on who I am, I can be considered a big “movie head”, and just to put it out there, I absolutely love my TV shows too. I don’t know about you, but I know for me, time and time again, it’s proven difficult to find decent shows on TV. With that said, I decided share with you all, the TV shows that I’ve categorized as “good”. I’ve become so caught up in them all, I just can’t skip a beat and anticipate the episodes of the following week. Leave it up to me, and I’ll watch reruns of the shows on occasion. I kid you not! I consider them all noteworthy, and dependent on your taste in series, recommend them all for your viewing pleasure. Point to note however, is that I am not really a comedy person, so if you are, then this post is not for you *halo*.

Game of thrones – This series is back for its second season on HBO, so if you’re going to watch, best believe you have some catching up to do, as the first episode of the second season aired last night.

Seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros. Robert Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard, Lord Stark, to serve as Hand of the King, or highest official. Secretly warned that the previous Hand was assassinated, Eddard accepts in order to investigate further. Meanwhile the Queen's family, the Lannisters, may be hatching a plot to take power. Across the sea, the last members of the previous and deposed ruling family, the Targaryens, are also scheming to regain the throne. The friction between these clans, and with the remaining great Houses Greyjoy, Tully, Arryn, and Tyrell, leads to full-scale war. All while a very ancient evil awakens in the farthest North. Amidst the war and political confusion, a neglected military order of misfits, the Night's Watch, is all that stands between the realms of men and icy horrors beyond. Breaking Bad – This series I’ve been hooked on, and can’t seem to stop talking about. It took me a while, but I eventually caught on, having taken the time out to watch all past seasons. The show is getting ready to go in to its fifth and final season, said to be aired in July of 2012.

When chemistry teacher, Walter White, is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given only two years to live, he decides he has nothing to lose. He lives with his wife and teenage son, who has cerebral palsy, in New Mexico. Determined to ensure that his family will have a secure future, White embarks on a career of drugs and crime. He proves to be remarkably proficient in this new world as he begins manufacturing and selling methamphetamine with one of his former students. The series tracks the impacts of a fatal diagnosis on a regular hard working man explores how a fatal diagnosis, how that effects his morality and transforms him into a major player of the drug trade. Awake – The series premiered on March 1, 2012, and airs on Thursdays at 10:00 pm (Eastern) on NBC.

After a car accident takes the life of a family member, a police detective lives two alternating parallel lives, one with his wife and one with his son. Is one of his "realities" merely a dream? (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1839683/)

Suits – This series I became familiar with sometime last year. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting on its return, it finally is coming back to TV, for its second season in June 2012.

Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) is a brilliant college dropout. Mike's childhood dream of becoming a lawyer was derailed after he was caught selling a math exam to the Dean's daughter. Naturally intelligent and with an eidetic memory, Mike makes a living taking tests for other people, particularly LSAT’s. Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) is one of New York City's top attorneys who has recently been promoted to senior partner at his firm, and is forced by company policy to hire an associate. After an accidental interview with Mike, Harvey is impressed by the younger man's quick wits, his encyclopaedic knowledge of the law, and his genuine desire to be an attorney, and hires him. Due to the fact that Mike lacks a law degree, and because the firm prefers Harvard alumni, they both pretend that Mike is a Harvard graduate. Mike and Harvey often come into conflict over Mike's naiveté and ethical scruples and Harvey's hard charging and seemingly uncaring demeanour. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suits_(TV_series))

Teen Wolf – This series I consider to be a less serious one hen compared to the others but still a good watch in my opinion. They will also be back for their second season in June 2012.

The series revolves around social outcast Scott McCall, a young lacrosse-playing student at Beacon Hills High School. His life drastically changes when he is bitten by a werewolf one night. Upon discovery that he is a werewolf, with the help of his best friend, Stiles, and the mysterious werewolf, Derek, he is forced to learn to balance his newfound identity among the many dangers that it presents with his teenage life. He must keep his loved ones safe and balance the relationships he shares with each person around him. Scott is also having trouble with keeping his secret from the girl he loves, Alison, and later finds out she is part of a family that hunts werewolves. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teen_Wolf_(2011_TV_series))

Alcatraz – This too is one of my current watches, with the first season just ending last Monday (26/03), a two (2) hour finale.

On March 21, 1963, over 300 inmates’ and more than 40 guards disappeared from the Alcatraz island prison without a trace. To cover up the disappearance, the government invented a cover story about the prison being closed, due to unsafe conditions, and officially reported that the inmates had been transferred. However, federal agent Emerson Hauser (Sam Neill), a young San Francisco police officer tasked with transferring inmates to the island in 1963, is one of the first to discover that the inmates are actually missing and not transferred. In present-day San Francisco, the "63s" (as the missing inmates and guards are called) begin returning, one by one. Strangely, they haven't aged at all, and they have no clue about their missing time or their whereabouts during their missing years. Even more strangely, the government has been expecting their return, and Hauser now runs a secret government unit dedicated to finding the returning prisoners; this unit was set up long ago in anticipation of the prisoners’ returns. To help track the returning prisoners down and capture them, Hauser enlists police detective Rebecca Madsen (Sarah Jones) and Dr. Diego Soto (Jorge Garcia), a published expert on the history of Alcatraz and its inmates.
