Hey Guys,

I hope everyone is excited and ready for Valentine’s Day. If you are either single or just not able to be with your significant other this year, I really hope this post will inspire you to still have fun this Valentine’s Day.

This year I knew I wanted to host some type of a Galentine’s day celebration for my girlfriends (because I love any excuse to throw a party). At first, I thought a brunch would be best because it could be super girly, super pink and super fun. On second thought, however, I quickly realized that a brunch would require me to be in the kitchen, given that’s the only way I could serve hot food. Then, it hit me..... I could host a tea party! That way I could spend most of the time actually enjoying the event rather than being in front of the stove.

Without further ado, let’s break down all the steps you will need to follow in order to throw your very best Galentine’s Day Tea Party

Step 1 – Decide on your theme/color scheme
Once I decided to host a tea party, my first thought was about selecting an appropriate color scheme. I went with baby pink, silver and white with hints of green.

Step 2 – Put together your lists
A set of lists will be your best friend! They will keep you 1) organized and 2) from buying things you don’t absolutely need. Unless, of course, you are like me and will still buy things you don’t need.

The lists you will need are as follows:
1. Guest list
2. Food and drink list
3. Décor list
4. Shopping List

With the exception of the guest list, write down everything in two columns “things you have” and “things you need”. After that, transfer all of the things you need onto your shopping list.

Step 3 – Send out invites
This step will depend on how many guests you plan on having. If it’s a large party, you might want to go with traditional paper invites that you send out in the mail. If it’s a small party, evites are just as great. If it’s for close friends, you can call them, like I did, and threaten that if they don’t attend this will be the end of your friendship (totally joking! Don’t do that).

Step 4 – Place all orders
Depending on what you need, you may need to order some of the stuff. Please check on shipping times for your items! I placed orders for my cake, cupcakes, and tea set approximately 4 weeks before my party. I also wanted to order cookies, but I waited until a week before the party to place the order. Turns out the shipping time stated 1-2 weeks, so I didn’t end up taking that chance.

Step 5 – Shop
This is the fun part!!!! To make it not stressful, pick up items you will need while you are out doing your regular shopping. I visit Target all the time (which may/may not be a good thing), so I picked up a few décor pieces while grocery shopping. I saved all my food and fresh-flower shopping for the day before the party, mainly because I wanted everything to be as fresh as possible.

Step 6 – Decorate
To be honest, I may have had more fun decorating than shopping. I put up all of my décor the night before, including my table scape/setting.

Step 7 – Prepare Food & Drinks
I prepared all of my sandwiches the morning of the party and covered them with saran wrap. When my guests arrived, I transferred them to the 3 tier cake stands for serving.

Step 8 – HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!! A good tip would be to plan an activity of some sort.

This event was hosted by my friend Kelly and I. Please check out her blog post to learn more on

Hey Guys,

Today I am sharing with you my beauty and lifestyle favorites of last year. I really wanted to have this, and my previous, post uploaded in January but sometimes life just throws us curve balls. Anyways guys! Let’s go ahead and get started.

1. Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis – This was probably my best purchase of 2017. This bag just works for my lifestyle. I love small cross-body bags but they generally never seem to fit enough things. This bag, however, is the perfect hybrid between a small cross-body and a bag big enough to carry everyday essentials. An added bonus is that it goes with almost anything in your wardrobe.

2. Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Pure Luxury Lift & Firm Hydra-Gel Eye Patches – I don’t think it’s a secret that I have under-eye bags. They are significantly more pronounced on days that I am tired or if I haven’t had enough sleep the night before. I have tried a lot of products to help with diminishing the appearance of my bags but they simply don’t work. At least, with this product, you can see a noticeable difference. It’s not a major difference but it’s a difference that you can see nonetheless.

3. Cetaphil RestoraDerm Eczema Calming Body Moisturizer – This is my Holy Grail product; the product I would need if I were stranded on a desert island. If you follow me on Instagram, you would have heard me say several times how I suffer from persistent dry skin. That’s partially due to the fact that I have eczema and I used to have these really dry patches on my face that just wouldn’t go away. That is, until I found this product. Yes, I know it’s not a facial moisturizer, but I use it as one because this is what works for me. I repurchase this product every single month without fail. I simply cannot live without it.

4. Tory Burch Earrings – This particular pair is from the Outlets and I have them in silver and gold. These are the earrings I wear everyday, if I am going to work, if I am going to the supermarket, if I am running errands. They are great and I love them!

5. Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick Elson - I love a red lipstick! Who doesn’t? For the longest time, my go-to red lipstick was Ruby Woo. Don’t get me wrong, I still love it but it is very drying. I wanted to find something that was still matte, but not as drying to the lips with a smoother application. That’s when I came across Pat McGrath MatteTrance lipstick in the color Elson. I LOVE the formula of this lipstick.

6. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream – I didn’t buy this product at first. It was one of those free gifts you receive from Sephora when you have accumulated enough points. I’ve been using my sample as a hand cream that I carry around in my bag. Mainly because, for some reason, my hands are just always dry. I loved the formula but I still wanted to give other hand creams, that I had heard great things about, a try. Long and short of this story is that after a couple of months of trying several creams, I went back to Sephora and purchased a full size tube of this product and now we are inseparable.

7. Bauble Bar Celene Cutout Bangle Bracelets – I have had these for a while. I bought them in 2016 when I was heading to Cancun. I ended up wearing them a ton in 2017 and, for costume jewelry, they’ve stood up well.

8. Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation – This foundation has provided me with the best color match since I have been buying foundation and, for that reason, it has made this list.

9. Louis Vuitton Lockit Mule Flat Sandals – I bought these as a souvenir of my trip to Spain and I have worn them to death ever since. In my mind “luxury” items are only worth the price tag if you wear/use them all the time. If you are buying it to admire it, it’s a waste of money (my opinion only).

10. Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb Bloom – I don’t think you can go wrong with this perfume, regardless of the scent. The original Flowerbomb is, by far, my favorite perfume. In the spring of 2017, however, I was looking for something that was just a little lighter for that period of time. I tried so many perfumes but I wasn’t coming across anything I loved. One day, randomly browsing the internet, I came across an article introducing Flowerbomb Bloom. I set out on a hunting expedition to find it and what an expedition it was! It took me 2 to 3 months to finally track this particular perfume down in-store. I sampled and subsequently fell in love. I’ve been using it ever since.

I hope you have enjoyed today’s blog post. I have a lot of fun posts planned for the next 2 months so I hope you stick around. Talk to you soon.

Hey Guys,

This is my first post of 2018 and I wanted to start off with a look back at last year. Mainly, because I was inspired by an article that read “we can’t address, what we don’t assess”. This had me reflecting on 2017 and all the good and bad things that happened. I started to think about the things I want to change, the experiences I want to have, and the dreams I want to chase. It is during this process that I thought I would share my 2017 highlights with you guys.

So follow me on this journey as I look back on 2017.

I started out 2017 attending my Dad’s 70th birthday party, which was awesome. I couldn’t think of a better way to start out the year than being surrounded by family and friends and celebrating the person that has played a large part of making me the person I am today.

Daddy and his girls

Once I returned to Florida, Kelly and I started working on opening our etsy sticker shop: Sticky Pretty Co. This brought me so much joy this past year. The shop is currently closed while we work on redesigning our kits and becoming ready to ship.

In late February, I got invited by a fellow blogger to take part in a photo shoot for black history month. To date, it is still one of the most fun shoots I have done.

In the summer, I took my dream vacation cruising the Mediterranean with family and friends. It is an experience that I am extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to have. We also spent a week exploring Barcelona and Paris, if that wasn’t enough :).

Shortly after that, I was lucky enough to take another cruise to the Bahamas. This cruise was a birthday gift to myself, as traveling has become the thing that feeds my soul.

I went to Texas for the first time …….

Jason and I celebrated our 7-year anniversary. To be honest, I can’t believe it’s been seven years. I feel like I got married yesterday and the time has literally disappeared. Just like with any marriage, there are ups/downs and challenges/opportunities but I am very grateful and blessed to have him in my life.

I ended the year the way I started it, with family. Christmas was definitely magical to say the least. Over the years, I have come to realize that I am always the happiest when surrounded by the people that know me the best. So, I wouldn’t have it any other way. My Christmas will always be spent with loved ones.

As social media influencers/Bloggers/Content Creators (whichever title you prefer), we tend to only share the stuff that paints our lives to be perfect. I don’t want to play a part in that, so, here are a few of the “bad” moments of my 2017.

1. On my return trip from Texas, I went into a Sickle Cell Crisis mid-flight from Texas to Atlanta. Luckily, there was a doctor on board who suggested the airline get me some oxygen as I waited for my pain meds to kick in. Jason and I could not get on our connecting flight to Orlando, as that would have made things a lot worse for me. After being checked by the EMT, and refusing to go to the hospital, Jason got us a rental car and drove us home 7 hours while I slept.
2. I have had a cough since the start of October that just won’t seem to go away. I have seen endless doctors and have tried endless medications but nothing seems to help. I have had sleepless nights as I cough all night long and, to be honest, it’s probably the stress of this ordeal that caused the crisis I had on my flight from Texas. I am writing this on January 18th and I still have this cough and sleepless nights, but I pray to God it will be over soon.

We all have 365 days to make the year everything we want it to be. I implore you to take a chance on something you have always wanted to do because once you start, you might wonder why it took you so long to start in the first place. Enjoy your 2018!!!!!!!!!! I will talk to you in the next post, where I will share a little about my favorite products of last year.

Until next time guys, thanks for reading
